Women’s Retreat

I was invited to attend a Women’s Weekend Away retreat hosted by my new friend Cindy Beers with Red Headed Yoga.  The retreat was held at beautiful Amethyst Retreat Center in Duncannon, Pa.

I was invited as a guest artist to work with the women on creating vision boards using the new moon and spring equinox energies, but it ended up as so much more for me.

Saturday was a beautiful day of connecting with women, experiencing new things, and releasing old stories that no longer serve our purpose.

My dear friend Linda D’Agostino is an acupuncturist and did a short session on our ears! She shared with us how easy it is to move our Qi every day to help align our energy. Maggie Salter presented a lecture on I Am affirmations, which was fantastic.

Melody Bishop shared her knowledge of Runes, with doing a short reading for everyone. I received the Raidho rune, which was a perfect synchronicity.  I was in the right place at the right time. Melody described it as on my journey, and that weekend was definitely a huge part of my journey.

Raidho

Raidho

Sound: “r”
Stands for: Wheel, Cartwheel (or Riding)
Color: Blue (Black)
Casting meaning: This rune allows us to focus our energy so that we may obtain our goals. However to do so effectively we must be “in the right place at the right time.”

You’re about to embark on a journey – either in the physical world or a journey of your soul to heal something that needs healing.

Joyce Marafka shared her knowledge on Enneagrams, having each of us take a brief test to find out our personality type. I felt drawn to 3 different personality types!

7    THE ENTHUSIAST
Enneagram Type Seven

The Busy, Variety-Seeking Type:
Spontaneous, Versatile, Acquisitive, and Scattered

Type Seven in Brief

Sevens are extroverted, optimistic, versatile, and spontaneous. Playful, high-spirited, and practical, they can also misapply their many talents, becoming over-extended, scattered, and undisciplined. They constantly seek new and exciting experiences, but can become distracted and exhausted by staying on the go. They typically have problems with impatience and impulsiveness. At their Best: they focus their talents on worthwhile goals, becoming appreciative, joyous, and satisfied.

I realized that I use this part of my personality to compensate for my fear of stepping into my role of leadership… which is 8.

8   THE CHALLENGER
Enneagram Type Eight

The Powerful, Dominating Type:
Self-Confident, Decisive, Willful, and Confrontational

Type Eight in Brief

Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive. Protective, resourceful, straight-talking, and decisive, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable. At their Best: self- mastering, they use their strength to improve others’ lives, becoming heroic, magnanimous, and inspiring.

Eights are charismatic and have the physical and psychological capacities to persuade others to follow them into all kinds of endeavors—from starting a company, to rebuilding a city, to running a household, to waging war, to making peace.

Eights have enormous willpower and vitality, and they feel most alive when they are exercising these capacities in the world. They use their abundant energy to effect changes in their environment—to “leave their mark” on it—but also to keep the environment, and especially other people, from hurting them and those they care about. At an early age, Eights understand that this requires strength, will, persistence, and endurance—qualities that they develop in themselves and which they look for in others.

I also felt close to a 9, which is a peacemaker. I believe I am using my 8 energy to bring about the 9.

9   THE PEACEMAKER
Enneagram Type Nine

The Easygoing, Self-Effacing Type:
Receptive, Reassuring Agreeable, and Complacent

Type Nine in Brief

Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.

We have called personality type Nine The Peacemaker because no type is more devoted to the quest for internal and external peace for themselves and others. They are typically “spiritual seekers” who have a great yearning for connection with the cosmos, as well as with other people. They work to maintain their peace of mind just as they work to establish peace and harmony in their world. The issues encountered in the Nine are fundamental to all psychological and spiritual work—being awake versus falling asleep to our true nature; presence versus entrancement, openness versus blockage, tension versus relaxation, peace versus pain, union versus separation.

Joyce connected each personality type to different goddess’ and tarot cards from different decks, as well as to different oils that each type could use to help with balancing that aspect of themselves.

On Saturday evening a beautiful soul Edyta Hutchman came and held an amazing women’s circle. It was the most fantastic releasing experience I’ve had in a while. Prior to the circle she did henna and spirit animal readings for the ladies, which was my first time getting henna! Thank you Edyta, for creating such a magickal circle. Your spirit is pure love, and I am forever changed seeing my reflection in you.

I am so in love with henna,  I bought some and did it for my little girl Element. We had such a blast… and now I am planning to do private henna sessions at Firefly Hollow Wellness Center, along with the many other activities I host there.

I have to send out love and light to all the amazing women I met during the retreat.

All of you are amazing goddess’ who have such beautiful and admiring strength and will power. Thank you for opening up and being authentic with yourself and each other. Thank you for your vulnerability and support. Thank you for your love and light. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to share space, energy and love with you all. I learned so much from each of you, and you are forever in my hearts.
