Description

In the Vitarka Mudra, the tips of the thumb and index finger touch each other and form a circle. The right hand is held up to the viewer and the left hand is resting in the lap.

Mudra’ is Sanskrit for ‘seal or mark of identity’. This is a form of nonverbal communication that refers to symbolic gestures inspiring the feeling of spirituality.

The practice of this pose should encourage wisdom. The practice of this mudra is mostly done by those who have gained knowledge and are on the path to enlightenment. What is gained here is more towards spirituality knowledge

It is believed that the circle formed with the index finger and the thumb signifies perfection – like there is no beginning or end. There is a constant flow of energy through the body and from the guru to the student.

The practice of Vitarka Mudra encourage one to think clear and have a fair sense of clarity of one’s existence, while learning to connect to the world outside (elements) to absorb the energy to the fullest.

Vitarka Mudra is all about wisdom, energy, knowledge, enlightenment
