York Art Fair

This weekend was the York Art Fair hosted by Gymnastics of York! It was Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 6pm. There were many different artists, vendors, music, open gym time for kids, food, and great people!

I had the pleasure of doing henna, and selling my artwork. Saturday my friend EliArtSparkle came with me and sold out of her real mushroom resin jewelry.

On Sunday Element and her friend Lauren came and sold stress balls and slime that they made together! It was so awesome seeing them figure out the details of running a business together.

York Art Fair Vendors

There were so many amazing people at the fair. I met a few artists that I am excited to make art with in the near future! I also added a few new things to my collection of wonders.

2020

Such an interesting number … 2020.

An interesting year it was for sure! A lot was documented in the first half of the year… and then fall came… and school started back up virtual, and then we bought a house.

Things have been in a constant state of motion. 2020 was like the winding up of the music box, doing the work with hope of something beautiful to come out of it.

I had been looking to purchase my first home for a while… but I had not seen anything that resonated with me. It took me over a month, and seeing over 20 houses until I finally found the right one.

On my way to see the house, a bald eagle flew over my car and followed me along my route for a while. When I finally pulled up the house and got of the car, I felt my heart start to get warm.

When we went inside, the current owner was there and I felt comfortable in the space and speaking to her about the home. As we took our tour, we headed outside to the yard… 1.53 acres.

Walking the property, my heart grew warmer and warmer… filling up with excitement. Tears began to roll down my face, tears of joy and gratitude that this land has chosen me as its steward. Excited to be able to care for mother earth in this beautiful sacred space.

We have 4 peach trees, and a very large area designated as a garden, with beets growing all over. There is a shed for the garden specifically, as well as a 3 car garage that will be used as a studio!

The house has taken up a lot of my extra time, as I dive right into home ownership and all that it entails.

Our first project was the hot water heater! It was slowly dripping from the temperature pressure release valve, which is not a HUGE deal but it did need to be fixed. So as I look into the project some more, I find out that the thermal expansion tank should be checked to see if it is still functioning. Well come to find out the tank had failed and needed to be replaced. After many many trips to Lowes, I finally completed the task and replaced the tank! I learned so much from one of the employees in the plumbing department, like to check your water pressure and to make sure you inflate the tank to the proper pressure for your system.

After replacing the tank, the temperature pressure release valve stopped leaking!!! First DIY fix completed and in the books.

Aside from fixing little things here and there, we have repainted almost the entire house, and are currently putting up drywall in places that had remodeling begun by the previous owners. Still lots to do!

It has been wonderful being home and teaching virtually for this period of time in my life. And being that it was winter, we were forced to stay inside and complete projects. Though I am very excited for spring, when I can get outside and work on the land more. Also it seems we will be going back to in person teaching in March!

We also got a new addition to our family! Meet Daisy! She is a Border Collie Blue Heeler.

And last but not least… one of my very favorite things about our property… we can see the sunrise from my backyard AND the sunset from the front!!

All of this, while completing commissioned art for clients, teaching 3 in person private art lessons, teaching virtually, and studying a few new interests.

2020 was a powerful year for me…

it wasn’t an easy year for sure, but it was a year full of growth, and blooming. Coming into my power and realizing my dreams. Connecting with the land and with other like minds. Stepping into the future I have been manifesting for a while… it was such a powerful year, and has me excited about what is to come.

Making it through the energy of 2020 has helped me to see that I am strong, centered, unified and more than capable to navigate the path the universe has before me.

Here is to all of the learning and growth that propels us forward… Thank you for being here with me, and for following your heart as you walk your authentic path in this life. <3

Coinbase Learning

I discovered recently that you can earn crypto while learning about crypto on Coinbase. I am learning how specific cryptocurrencies work — and I get a bit of each currency to try out for myself.

So I have been learning about Stellar Lumen and XLM.  Stellar is a platform that connects banks, payment systems, and people. Stellar unites the world’s financial infrastructure so money can flow quickly and cheaply between banks, businesses, and people. It has some amazing potential.

For people sending money to family members overseas, Stellar offers a cheaper, faster alternative to traditional money transfer services.

Banks, businesses, and people can use Stellar to turn traditional assets, like dollars and euros, into tokens. These tokens can then be transferred and exchanged with any other participant on the Stellar network.

As a Coinbase customer, you can learn how it all works and you’ll earn XLM.  XLM is the Stellar networks own cryptocurrency which facilitates low-cost, universal payments on Stellar.

Digital assets on Stellar are protected by a decentralized global network of computers running Stellar’s open source software. These computers cooperate to confirm legitimate transactions and prevent malicious ones.

Stellar is a cooperation token, that globalizes the marketplace. I can see many benefits from participating in learning and sharing how Stellar works and how it can be applied to businesses as well as personal financial transactions. If you own a small business, Stellar could be a new platform for your business to connect to the digital world.

Click here to get started! Once you have watched the five 1-2 minute videos, you can invite up to 4 friends to earn XLM too! They can be new or existing Coinbase users. You’ll earn $10 in XLM for each eligible friend who completes a lesson.

Happy Learning and Earning!

Real Estate – Power Spot

For the last few years, I have been on a journey towards being a Realtor.

I completed my coursework, and passed the National and State tests, after much studying and a couple attempts.  The Maryland State test was a lot more difficult than the National test. There was a lot of information, and it was worded in the strangest ways… but the more you practice the better you get!

Recently I completed my 15 continuing education credits and am currently awaiting board membership for the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, as well as membership to the local board, Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS®.

This process has taken my a while to manifest, being that I am a full time teacher, artist and mother! I see value in it, and want to use my skills and talents to be of service to others.  Thinking of helping someone find their “power spot” is what this is about for me.

In Carlos Castaneda’s book “The Teachings of Don Juan”, Don Juan gives Carlos the task of searching for his “power spot”. This is a spot which rejuvenates our energy and allows us to tap into our divine power.

Purchasing a home can be an activity that causes us much discomfort, especially our first time.

What if we were to look at this purchase from a spiritual point of view, and not only from a third dimensional perspective.  Yes, it is important to pay attention to the structure of the house, the location of the house, the physical qualities we are looking for…. but it is also just as important to feel out how spaces affect our energy.

Look at purchasing a house from a holistic perspective, and keep in mind how our sacred space feels.  Spending time visualizing how we want our power spot, or sacred space, to look and feel, will give us a sense of ease when deciding on and purchasing a home. It will allow us to be more in tune with our desires, so when the right spot comes along we will know with our hearts and our minds.

This is why I am excited to have the Realtor tool in my belt. To assist all, in all ways, towards alignment with our higher selves and balance in this 3D world.

Keep an eye out for more posts about this journey, it is an exciting one!

Stage Door Series: Gallathea

I didn’t know what to expect when I walked into the Gamut Theatre, as I am from Maryland and do not know much about Harrisburg, or many places in PA for that matter. As I opened the doors, any expectations I might have tried to create went out the window. This theatre was gorgeous and I was only in the lobby! I was graciously greeted by three lovely ladies as I paid my donation, hung my coat and was directed into the Capital BlueCross Lobby.

As I walked in all I could say was… whoa. I felt like I was in a movie. The audience was surrounding an open stage area, enjoying their drinks and snacks that were purchased at the bar. Being that I was by myself and didn’t really know what to expect, and the whole room was full, I caught my breath as I started to ask questions to the kind bartender Zane. He shared so much information with me, and was so knowledgeable about all that goes on at the theatre. I was totally surprised and totally excited to now know this place exists!

The play I had the pleasure of attending was Gallathea. This play was apart of the Stage Door Series which seeks to expand the reach of Gamut Theatre Group in its mission to preserve and perform classic stories.

The goal is the presentation of classical material in engaging and educational workshop productions, focused on streamlining the production experience to highlight the essential elements of theatre: the text, the story, the action, and the actors. Because of this, their shows are affordable and accessible to the audience through the motto, “Come as you are, pay what you will.”

Gallathea is an Elizabethan era stage play, a comedy by John Lyly. The first record of the play’s performance was at Greenwich Palace on New Year’s Day, 1588 where it was performed before Queen Elizabeth I and her court by the Children of St Paul’s , a troupe of boy actors.

Before a trouser-wearing Viola swayed Illyrian hearts, before Rosalind dressed as Ganymede and wooed Orlando, before Puck used Cupid’s flower to wreak merry havoc, there was Gallathea. This 1588 gender-bending, love-affirming play by John Lyly is an Elizabethan rarity filled with gods (big and little), sea monsters, overprotective dads, enchanted nymphs, thwarted virgin sacrifices—and two cross-dressed girls who fall head over heels for one another and declare that…

love is love is love.

My dear friend Joshua played the role of Tyterus… a loving father who disguises his beautiful daughter in order to save her life from Neptune. This opening scene set the stage for the entire play. Tyterus comes in with his daughter discussing the demands of Neptune and the need for the village to sacrifice a virgin every five years.  The virgin must be the fairest of them all, and is ordered to be tied to a tree so that Agar the sea monster would come and devour her for the good of the community. If they did not provide the fairest virgin, the village would be drowned by Neptune. This demand was payment for the destruction of Neptune’s temples many years before.

The tone was set.

I loved how the first scene was serious, and full of vital information for the rest of the play… and I loved not knowing anything about the play before seeing it. Paying attention to the details to uncover the plot. As the play went on, there were many laughs had, as well as some serious questions that could be posed about the theme of the story and how it relates to whats relevant today. Questions about Love vs Virtue, service to self vs. service to others, and perspectives. It was a beautiful reminder that love is love is love. <3

Francesca Amendolia was the fantastic director. The roles were cast in a way that added a level of depth to the story line, bringing it from the 1500’s into modern day, with an Elizabethan dialect, and I found it easy to follow along. I was thoroughly delighted, entertained, and curious watching this fantastic play!

Their last show is today at 2:30, if you’re free and in the Harrisburg PA area you should totally check it out!

If you’re interested in supporting the local arts, and theatre, a generous Gamut Theatre supporter and donor has offered to match every donation made to Gamut’s capital campaign (up to a total of $500) in honor of today’s performance of Gallathea.
