Facilitating Creativity

A lot has happened in the past month, so much I haven’t had time to keep up with writing about it all!

I taught two faculty paint nights as team building workshops! Both went extremely well and everyone left feeling like an artist! First we painted a lighthouse, because Ridgely is a Baltimore County Lighthouse School, we each hung our paintings up in our classrooms. The second party we painted cherry blossom trees, which were more for our houses.

I also taught a dream catcher workshop at my friends yoga studio Life in Balance. There were 12 people in attendance and each created their own unique dream catcher!

There was also a birthday painting party! Lots of middle school girls painting circle designs, or any designs they desired! Each piece turned out awesome, and the girls had a blast!

There has been lots of painting going on!

What is Labor Day?

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. – U.S. Department of Labor

I can honestly say that I didn’t fully grasp, or appreciate Labor day until this year; Having a summer full of many social and economic achievements towards my goal of having my own art school. I used to take this holiday at base level…I saw it as another day off. I realize now that its not just about having an extra day to rest, its also about celebrating the fruits of my labor! I will be taking this day to celebrate all I’ve accomplished, and to be excited about all the possibilities for the future!

Celebrate all you have achieved this year, and take a moment to set your intent for the up coming months to promote your continued success.

Appreciate all the work you’ve put into who you are and what you dream to accomplish.

Super moons and Sunsets

With the beauty of the sky every evening,
we should be in awe of the universe and give thanks for all of the things the day has given us.

we should be in awe of the universe and give thanks for the infinite amount of possibilities available to us.

Our sunset paintings delicately manifested themselves on our canvases while the wine flowed.

We had sweet and salty, and dark chocolates as our guides. Along with the sweetest of Blackberry wine from Logan’s View Winery, Moscato pink Champaign and a nice Cabernet Sauvignon.

The palm trees danced in the cool breeze after a hot summers day.

Sunflowers

So this lovely group of women created master pieces on June 21st, 2014. The sunflower painting was chosen and the ladies were able to change and alter their painting however they felt worked best for their vision. They were all so open to learning, you can see in their final master pieces. Most ladies decided on the blue background, which reminded us all of Van Gogh. The other two artists had visions of their own, I wish I would’ve seen the orange background vision! And Sherry’s beautiful deep magenta color and white aura really pop!

So the first event was a huge success!
20 people came out for our first wine and painting party and everyone had a blast. There were a lot of laughs and great paintings all around. I can’t wait for the next one! Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the studio!
