Kids Yoga Love Festival

The first ever Kids Yoga Love Festival was held at Amethyst Retreat Center in July 2021. Chelsea Parcels created a wonderful event for children of all ages!

Every child is an artist, the problem is how to remain an artists once they grow up.

Pablo Picasso

Kids Festival

This was more than just a Yoga festival, it was full of experiences that allowed our inner child to play, dance, create, and explore!

The event offered Yoga inspired classes for all ages, Vendors, delicious food, ice cream, hiking, dancing, drumming, community art, beginner friendly. Kirtan, henna, forest meditation, friends, kittens for adoption, magic show, super hero martial arts class, Qigong, nature + SOooo Much More!

The day began with an opening ceremony with Chelsea Parcels & Emily Turin who performed of her very special song, “Send Out A Smile.”

Nicky Yesser lead us all in dance time.

I truly felt my inner child filled with joy as I danced along with the kids! You can feel her heart as she leads the kids to express themselves through dance!

There were many yoga classes held, Jennifer Lynn Teens Yoga Class, Kids Yoga Class with Erika Malorzo, Holly Keich, Kids Yoga with Suzi Zappile, Nat Aiello Yoga for Toddlers, Jennifer Lynn, Erika America Family Yoga Nidra, and Amy Necci Tween & Kids Yoga.

Rickie with Reiki by Rickie lead workshops for kids. It was so wonderful seeing Rickie work with kids and teach them about Reiki! So powerful to see children taking time to slow down and listen and feel the energy around them.

Dani & Shelley Herlihy played Kids Kirtan for us. Their music is beautiful and all the kids enjoyed sharing in song with them!

Julie Niblett read her book “The Talking Stick,” based on a true story of a boy who was bullied, and utilized the native American traditional talking stick to communicate and overcome obstacles.

Participants were able to make their very own talking stick, followed by a traditional circle discussion about effective communication. This was such a powerful experience for kids to have! We need more of this.

There was a Magic Show with River Barry, who has been immersed in the entertainment world for over twenty years. One of the most original and in-demand acts out there, River’s style of entertainment emphasizes moving beyond the present moment to help find an equal balance between self and nature, allowing the individual’s movement to be inspired by the moment. A magician, bubble artist, and rock balancing artist, River is committed to sharing the expression of the four foundational pillars of physical, mental, spiritual and financial.

Emily Turin, read her book “Herbert likes Sherbert.”

About the book: It seems at first to be a story about a child’s reluctance to try new things. As the story progresses, he learns that while cherishing memories is beautiful, sometimes holding onto something for too long can hold us back! Share in Herbert’s discovery as he braves the outcome of making new choices.

William Autore shared, ”Finding Your Future”

About the book: Finding Your Future written by author/artist William Autore, featuring his son on the books’ cover, is a comprehensive guide to self awareness and discovery of one’s purpose. Debuting in 2017, Finding Your Future is currently in talks of becoming a school based curriculum in New Jersey and an independent short film.

Kathy Conners Bucher lead everyone in Super Hero Training where they practiced their special powers and talk about what makes these super humans special. They finish the class learning what special powers they possess and how to bring them forth to help humanity. Experiences like this set the stage for a more self aware child!

Tammy & Jack Bray Yoga “Sacred Silliness” is always a favorite of mine. We did group giggles as we stretched, moved, and got our joy on playing in Laughter Yoga. So amazing… to show kids its ok to be silly and be you!

For the weekend I offered Intuitive Henna, and sold prints of my artwork.

I also hosted a Flower of Life workshop for the kids, allowing them to co-create in completing flower of life murals. This taught them the importance of our choices, and being tolerant of others choices. Also it was a nice lesson in the idea that sometimes things don’t always go the way we expect them to… the universe sometimes throws new things in the mix.

There was also William G Pagan Live Performance with his Didgeridoo, which were out of this world! Qiqong with Kathy Conners Bucher, Chad Brown live music, Forest Meditation with Erica Jo Shaffer, and a community fire with music, and s’mores!

Thank you Emily Zebel for capturing the day so beautifully!

Chelsea did an amazing job bringing together people from different backgrounds to create a safe and magickal environment of creation, exploration, experimentation, questioning, expressing and reflecting.

Her next event is the 2nd Annual Yoga Love Festival. (this one is for adults.) The first Yoga Love Festival was an amazing success! I am so grateful and honored to call her friend and be apart of these amazing experiences!

Central PA Yoga Love Festival

The first ever Central PA Yoga Love Festival was hosted at Amethyst Retreat Center in Dillsburg PA.  Chelsea Balance envisioned and created an amazing yoga event for all.

There were so many amazing vendors, musicians, and yoga instructors! This was the first year for this event, and I look forward to the next one!

There was a buddhist meditation lead by Bhante Soma from the Blue Lotus Temple in Carlisle, Pa.  After the morning meditation, attendees were able to visit vendors in between multiple yoga sessions!

There was a powerful bonfire on Saturday night, that lead to a lot of releasing and healing energy for all who participated. Amethyst was vibrating with so much energy!

The next day there was coffee and breakfast along with morning yoga and a meditation.

I was a vendor at the event, and also the artist for the event materials!

Thank you Chelsea for following your heart, bringing your vision to life and inviting me to join you in this event! Check out this youtube video from the event!

Watch out for a Kids Yoga festival coming this year!

Divine Retreat

In July my best friend Amber and I held a family fun weekend retreat.

It was divinely guided,
more than I could have ever imagined
and way different than I thought it would be.

We held the retreat at Amethyst Retreat Center in Duncannon Pa.
The perfect space for what the universe had in store.

There was yoga, community dinner, bonfire,
children’s laughter and communion between so many beautiful beings.
Learning about each other, while learning about ourselves.

The journey Amber and I went through to build this vision and dream was deep, and powerful growth for both of us. Learning what our true passions were and how to see ourselves as the leaders we are, to embrace the facilitator role we thrive in.
Gizaagin Amber <3 It would’ve have happened without you.

The weekend was magickal and beyond words.
I am so grateful for all the connections, growth and love we share
Migwetch to each of you beautiful souls.

To Dye or not to die

I had a wonderful day today… nice weather for a little hike. I sat and meditated by a stream for some time. When we got home I did Yoga with Adriene! After yoga I decide to dye my hair. I had been holding onto this box of hair dye for a while, waiting for the right time to dye my hair. I thought today was going to be that day…

18816242_10103525029210185_1737980079_n

I texted my friend and asked for his thoughts… and he said…

“Sure why not, any natural alternatives?”

Are there any alternatives?! No, this is the box I have in my hand right now.
Are there any alternatives??  I wondered… are there??
The implications of that question were expansive.
I thought about why I would want to use an alternative
Why hadn’t I thought of that before?
Why wouldn’t I use this box to dye my hair…
Would I actually throw this out and not use it…
Just to wait for an alternative that is natural and chemical free?

I stood in the mirror and had a 5 minute conversation with myself,
figuring out what I was going to do based off what I really valued.

my roots have grown out to my chin. :)

I like my hair red…
and I felt like my hair needed a color lift!
I think changing my hair color is an experience I enjoy
however, I enjoy a healthy life more.

Does hair dye actually affect you that much?
Even if its just every once in a while?
Does that question really matter… if it affects you at all
What are the benefits of the intake of these chemicals?
…Just different colored hair

So I threw the box away.
What I found interesting was that it wasn’t easy to just throw it away
Even after noting that I was allowing foreign chemicals into my body
It required some questioning, and reflecting in order to choose what I valued.

<3 with every choice we make…
we create the reality we desire <3
Does anyone know of any natural alternatives for red hair dye?

Art & Soul CEEQER Retreat

I am super excited to be hosting my first retreat! The Art and Soul CEEQER Retreat, Journey to the Divine I Am. July 7th-9th 2017. This is a full moon weekend as well!

My dear friend Amber and I have come together to host an art and soul retreat. Unleashing our Divine I am through art, nature and meditation.

Amber Evans will lead yoga and meditations for the three day retreat, discussing releasing old patterns and awakening our divine energy within us. We are each powerful beings capable of living the life we desire, we just have to remember how! Focusing on our intentions and the power of positive affirmations, we can manifest our desires.

I am Light, I am Human, I am Thankful

When each of us is focused on being the best version of ourselves, we help each other be the best as well. The Ojibwe say all roads are equal, no path is higher than the next. By being authentic and respecting each journey, we all shine light on each others paths.

I will be facilitating the release of things that no longer serves us through intuitive art making. We will tap into our energy and express it through a free flowing painting process. No painting experience necessary! Intuitive art comes from the heart… everything you do comes from within… the colors you chose, the shapes you make, the lines you see… everything will evolve as it should, representing your energy through your mark making.

This intuitive painting is all about the process, but will create an energetic piece for you to take home and use as a reminder of your Divine I am.

Here are few examples of some Intuitive Painting Workshops I have facilitated

The retreat will be hosted at Amethyst Retreat Center in Duncannon, Pa.  It is a beautiful location in the middle of nature. A perfect place for a full moon fire ceremony and lots of releasing and healing. There will be a nature walk, and a meditation in the labyrinth.

We would love for you to join us on this journey to our Divine. To register click here!

Life in Balance

I recently had the pleasure of attending a yoga and paint night at Life in Balance Yoga, with Misty Stillman and Traci Kelly.  It was my first time ever attending, and it was the first paint night that I went to and wasn’t the teacher! IMG_3797

We started the evening with a nice easy and releasing yoga session. Misty was awesome, the tone and pace of her instruction were perfectly matched. It was my first yoga class as well, I usually do Yoga with Adriene on YouTube, but I must say there is something very magical about being in a yoga studio with other people.

After yoga we enjoyed some food and wine, and socializing before we got started on our painting. When it was time to paint Traci took over and the creating began. I knew what the painting was going to be before hand, and I had already felt like I wanted to do mine a bit different. Traci was more than happy to let each of us work as we pleased. The other ladies stuck with the painting style Misty and Traci picked out, but I changed mine a bit.

The evening was relaxing and fun. I had a wonderful time all around! Thank you ladies for hosting such a wonderful evening!! Check out Life in Balance Yoga on Facebook!
