Birth Chart Astrology Painting

I have been painting birth chart’s for people for the past two years and it has been such an honor and privilege! When people connect with their painting so deeply, it is such a beautiful feeling. Knowing that my art allows others to connect with who they are at a deep level, is the greatest reward.

Here are the paintings I have created so far!

The Process

So to being the process I use the birth date, time and place of the individual to generate an astrology reading of their time of birth. This is known as the birth chart or natal chart.

Then I read the aspects of the chart which includes the planets, houses, and constellations. Generating an over all view of the energy of the person. From here I begin the intuitive painting process.

Painting

Intuitive painting is a process in which I get into a mindful state of being, and allow the paint and tools to lay the ground work for the energy I am focusing on. When I read a persons energy through astrology I often receive visuals that I incorporate into the work. The constellations and the symbols of the zodiac signs are also included into the work.

Birth Chart paintings are $250.
*they will increase to $300 in 2023.

2019

This year has been so abundant.

So much packed into one year.

The beginning of 2019 started off with learning more about the local connections with environmental organizations on my area, experiencing my first Maryland Association of Outdoor and Environmental Education conference, and recertifying my school as a Maryland Green school! We also were awarded two grants for environmental education projects! I also took the green club on a field trip to Sandy Point state park for a green school celebration! One of the best field trips ever.

In March I attended the National Art Education Association convention in Boston. I visited and fell in love with two new museums, the Isabella Gardner Museum and MFA. I learned the importance of networking and sharing who I am with others and found my place with the Caucus on the Spiritual in Art Education.

The spring was busy with my student teacher from Towson, who accepted a job this year! We also had our schools annual Arts in Action event!

Summer came and my intuitive henna took off. Sharing my gifts with many, some even had their designs become a permanent part of their lives.

I painted “en plein air,” at Cromwell Valley park with BCPS teachers.  It was such an awesome experience, and I am so looking forward to it again this coming summer.

I also attended an AVID one day intensive training, where I learned a lot about different ways to teach students, that I have been using this year! I am excited to say that I was asked to attend the week long training this summer 2020.

Working for St. Paul’s summer camp this year was a new experience… all camps combined, in a new location. It was a wonderful summer with amazing coworkers and campers! Visiting Irvine Nature Center and the Senator Theater were some of my highlights!

Then August came… with a bang. Breaking my wrist 2 weeks before school started for the new year. This was by far one of the most testing time for me. Testing my faith and trust that I have the power within to heal and come back stronger than before. Testing my sense of self…. am I my right hand? As an artist I began asking myself, does my identity come from my hands? Can I create even if my hands don’ work the same as they always have? This was a powerful time for a deep dive within.

I healed faster than the doctors have seen from a 30 year old. The whole process from break to out of cast took 6 weeks, and the doctor was so surprised at the amount of healing that occurred. My mobility was about 90% back to normal! I attribute my healing to my mindset, words and movement. I constantly used healing words over broken words. I visualized my wrist healing and strengthening. I stretched and stretched, and slowly got back into yoga, and stretched and stretched.

My 12th year of teaching began and I became an adjunct professor at Notre Dame of Maryland University, teaching Methods in Secondary Art Education. This was a huge milestone for me and my own self awareness. I love sharing my passion for teaching and art, especially with other passionate teachers. It was such a blessing to teach this course.

The workload for 2019 was intense, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. So much growth. Like a seedling, breaking through the concrete. Learning when to rest and when to reach. Realizing the activeness of balance. Balance in work, life, love, relationships, creating and resting. The balance of self care and self growth.

2019 was an abundant, and it was beautiful to watch the balance unfold.

Thank you to everyone who shared in this past year with me. I am forever grateful for you. <3  Excited and open to receiving all that this new year has in store.

Art & Soul CEEQER Retreat

I am super excited to be hosting my first retreat! The Art and Soul CEEQER Retreat, Journey to the Divine I Am. July 7th-9th 2017. This is a full moon weekend as well!

My dear friend Amber and I have come together to host an art and soul retreat. Unleashing our Divine I am through art, nature and meditation.

Amber Evans will lead yoga and meditations for the three day retreat, discussing releasing old patterns and awakening our divine energy within us. We are each powerful beings capable of living the life we desire, we just have to remember how! Focusing on our intentions and the power of positive affirmations, we can manifest our desires.

I am Light, I am Human, I am Thankful

When each of us is focused on being the best version of ourselves, we help each other be the best as well. The Ojibwe say all roads are equal, no path is higher than the next. By being authentic and respecting each journey, we all shine light on each others paths.

I will be facilitating the release of things that no longer serves us through intuitive art making. We will tap into our energy and express it through a free flowing painting process. No painting experience necessary! Intuitive art comes from the heart… everything you do comes from within… the colors you chose, the shapes you make, the lines you see… everything will evolve as it should, representing your energy through your mark making.

This intuitive painting is all about the process, but will create an energetic piece for you to take home and use as a reminder of your Divine I am.

Here are few examples of some Intuitive Painting Workshops I have facilitated

The retreat will be hosted at Amethyst Retreat Center in Duncannon, Pa.  It is a beautiful location in the middle of nature. A perfect place for a full moon fire ceremony and lots of releasing and healing. There will be a nature walk, and a meditation in the labyrinth.

We would love for you to join us on this journey to our Divine. To register click here!

Journey to the Divine

“How breathtaking it is to start out on a journey into the unknown. To start off in new directions takes courage, and faith. Faith that even when there are no external signs to indicate where or how we should proceed, we are not lost.”

These paintings are dreams and visions from within, brought to life through layers of colors, lines, shapes and energy. Each painting was uncovered through a process of intuitive exploration.

Art hanging at Reiki by Rickie until the end of June, 2017

Five of these paintings reflect a journey to the Divine I AM inspired by a series of tarot cards. Each painting embodies and is attuned with the frequency of a specific tarot card.

Art is a powerful tool, not just for gratification of self-expression, but as a vehicle of personal and collective transformation.

Art is Prayer, a sacred and vital discovery of one’s own special presence in the world.  Through creation, a person illuminates and illustrates their inner being, while creating something which also stands separate.

Through exploration and experimentation each of us can shine light on our inner world, allowing us to utilize expression as a means of awakening our Divine I Am.

“The root and full practice of the arts lies in the recognition that art is power, an instrument of communion between the self and all that is important, all that is sacred.”

Peter London, No More Second Hand Art.

My art will be on display in Harrisburg at Reiki by Rickie throughout May and June of 2017. Wine and cheese reception to be held on May 22, 2017 at 6:30pm.
